LENT

Lent courses 2018

40acts is the generosity challenge for Lent, created by UK Christian charity, Stewardship. For seven years, 40acts has asked a question: what if Lent could be about more than just giving stuff up? What if it could be a time of radical generosity as well as spiritual discipline? To find out more and to take part in the challenge join one of our Lent Groups this year. Have a word with one of our leaders who will be able to give you more information and welcome you into the group.

Tragic accident, Moldgreen, A prayer

A prayer for those involved in the tragic accident on Wakefield Road, Moldgreen on Wednesday morning.

Gracious God, in our grief and shock,

contain and comfort us;

embrace us with love,

give us hope in our confusion

and grace to love those around us.  Amen

He’s Coming!

Look who’s coming to town……

All the fun of Christmas.  Lets hope he’s getting some sleep before he starts his long trip around the world!

Amongst all the excitement we mustn’t forget what christmas is and who its is about. Mary and Joseph also had a long journey bringing joy to the world with the most special bundle Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year

A few Piccys from messy church

Messy Church was busy today, with many many children and parents all making activities about remembering.  Revd. Tim gave a talk on the Eucharist and how Christians remember Christ when having communion.  We all had a fabulous time, with sausages and mash for tea with cake for dessert.  Then a game of Messy Tag, before going home exhausted!

Remembrance service

The remembrance service was a very moving service.  The church was full.  The Brownies walked their flag down the aisle to start the service, they also participated in other parts of the service.  We also had a bugler called Andrew.

The laying of wreaths, flowers and lighting of the candles helped us to remember those who have dies in war both past and present.  Ollie represented like others our military.

A vey big thank you to all those that made this service so special.

Saying bye to the boiler

Sadly we have had to say bye to our boiler.

Happily here is our new boiler fully installed and working, giving warmth and hot water for the months ahead!
