Sunday Services

Altar Table given to the church in 2013 and constructed by Roebuck and Holmes .
Sundays at 9:30 we have a parish communion service .
This follows the pattern of Common Worship. A team of lay members have met regularly with the incumbent to produce sets of service booklets for each of the main liturgical seasons. Once a month the service takes a more informal structure.
We use the Common Praise hymn book and also a song book put together by a member of the congregation who leads a music group. This is not a choir but rather an enthusiastic group of people willing to learn new songs and lead the congregation in singing.
Wednesday Services

Wednesday after group enjoy refreshments and a chat after the short communion service.
A short communion is held fortnightly during the year, but weekly during Advent and Lent.
By arrangement lifts can be given to those for whom mobility is difficult. Phone 609125 if you would like a lift to this service.
Messy Church

Our Messy Church is jointly organised by Emmanuel Church and the Methodist Church in Shelley.
We hold a Messy Church service twice during a school term for families: parents, carers and their children and yes, even grandparents. Usually we hold these on a Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Hall in Shelley. We aim to have fun doing things, making things, even playing games while at the same time featuring a biblical theme. After a short act of worship with some singing we join together for a light meal.
Baptisims

Font decorated for a flower festival
The font is where baptism takes place marking the beginning of a Christian journey and membership of the local and worldwide Christian family. Our baptism contact person is Mrs Carol Robertshaw.
Entering the church and moving towards the main aisle takes you past the font which was given by Charles Hey of Grice in 1868. The first baptism took place on the 10th September 1868. It was re-sited in 1992, the plinth being built by Mr B Stephenson.
Weddings
